* 有時(shí)分rather than在句子掃尾，這時(shí)分可能先翻譯rather than局部，即“……不是……，(而)是……”，也可譯為“與……不同，……”。例如：

譯文：心臟和胃一樣無智力可言，由于它們都是由大腦管制的。

4)The new arrival was no (none) other thanthe manager.

發(fā)布答案：no more...than，not any more than示意"兩者都不"，"不比…更"。因此，上面那個(gè)句子Mary is no more beautiful than Jane.意思就是“瑪麗和簡都不美麗”，你可能翻譯得美麗點(diǎn)：瑪麗也沒有比簡美麗到哪里去~~~ (這么說你就得罪兩個(gè)體了~~)

4)瑪麗和簡都美麗。

【留意】這里no better than 就是no more good than，只不過沒有more good一說

留意：翻譯時(shí)分的地位變化，比如more A than B中，more是“多”，than是“少”，而中文中的“與其”是少，“不如”是多，所以翻譯時(shí)分需求顛倒。

* 很多情況下是一個(gè)示意否定的詞組，譯成"而不是"，例如：

下劃線局部，普通視作一個(gè)詞組來記，意思是“就是、正是”，所以這句話意思是：“來的人就是經(jīng)理”。

【留意】這里no more than變體成為了not ...any more than，咱們知道，no = not any，本句話掃尾沒有not one一說，只能說no one

譯文：任務(wù)不是懲罰，也不是累贅，任務(wù)為個(gè)體后勁的施展提供時(shí)機(jī)。

這幾個(gè)表達(dá)的常見意思都是“比……更……”，但在實(shí)踐翻譯進(jìn)程中無奈遲滯表達(dá)，這時(shí)，均能夠夠理解為：與其說是B，不如說是A。

BUT，我也可能把no和other than來到記憶，即：“來的人什么都不是，除了是經(jīng)理”。那么意思還是“來的人就是經(jīng)理”。

4、other than 普通示意 different from或except,即"不同于，除了"。
